Sono passati 26 anni dall’uccisione di Simonetta Cesaroni, uno dei delitti più famosi e controversi della cronaca italiana. La sera del 7 agosto del 1990, a Roma, in via Poma 2, all’interno dell’ufficio dell’Associazione italiana alberghi della gioventù, viene trovato il cadavere di Simonetta, 21 anni. ll suo corpo giace supino, seminudo, con le gambe divaricate, senza mutandine, il reggiseno sollevato, trafitto con 29 colpi di arma bianca al volto, alla gola al tronco e al basso ventre. Sul seno sinistro ha un morso. Per il medico legale non ha subito violenza sessuale. Ad uccidere Simonetta è stato un forte trauma alla testa. Non ci sono segni di scasso alla porta, o Simonetta conosceva il suo assassino o questi aveva le chiavi. Nella stanza del delitto viene trovato un foglio con un pupazzetto e una scritta indecifrabile: «Ce dead ok».
Prima di fuggire l’assassino, porta via i pantaloni, gli slip, la borsa e la maglietta di Simonetta e tenta di ripulire l’appartamento dal sangue.
Le indagini, condotte dal pm Pietro Catalani che ha affidato alla polizia gli accertamenti, ruotano subito attorno a due principali indagati coinvolti nell’omicidio: si trattava di Federico Valle, nipote dell’ingegnere che progettò il palazzo di via Poma e che abitava nello stesso stabile, e Pietrino Vanacore, portiere dello stesso palazzo.
Il 10 agosto Vanacore viene fermato per una macchia ematica sospetta sui pantaloni ma il Tribunale del Riesame lo scarcera venti giorni dopo: quella macchia non ha nulla a che vedere con il sangue di Simonetta. L’8 ottobre sono noti i risultati dell’autopsia: il volto di Simonetta presenta sei ferite e diverse ecchimosi; una ferita al collo è passata da parte a parte. Otto i tagli nella zona toracica, quattordici in quella pubico-genitale.La morte è avvenuta tra le 18 e le 18,30.
A chiamare in causa Valle è un testimone austriaco, Roland Voller, che dice di sapere chi e perché ha ucciso Simonetta.Il tedesco rivela alla Polizia che il ragazzo era in via Poma all’ora del delitto e quella sera sarebbe tornato a casa con un braccio sanguinante per una ferita. Il sospetto è che abbia ucciso Simonetta perché la ragazza era l’amante del padre Raniero. Valle sarebbe l’assassino e Vanacore il favoreggiatore che pulisce l’appartamento dopo il delitto e si impossessa degli indumenti per simulare una rapina. Ma il sangue di Federico Valle non corrisponde a quello ritrovato su una porta. Si ipotizza allora che questo sia frutto di una commistione del sangue di Valle e di quella della Cesaroni. Ma l’ipotesi non trova alcun riscontro scientifico . Come non trova nessun riscontro scientifico la formazione cutanea del Valle sul Braccio che possa far pensare ad un cicatrice da arma da taglio. Il giovane Valle e Vanacore vengono prosciolti (rispettivamente dall’accusa di omicidio e di favoreggiamento) dal gip Antonio Cappiello il 16 giugno del 1993, provvedimento poi confermato dalla Cassazione il 17 giugno del 1994.
Gli investigatori non si arrendono e nel 2004, il pm Roberto Cavallone decide di sottoporre alle analisi dei carabinieri del Ris di Parma , gli indumenti di Simonetta. E dopo 17 anni arriva il colpo di scena!
Il 6 settembre del 2007 Raniero Busco, all’epoca del delitto fidanzato di Simonetta, viene iscritto sul registro degli indagati per omicidio volontario: stando alle analisi scientifiche, c’è compatibilità tra il suo dna e le tracce biologiche scoperte su corpetto e reggiseno della vittima. L’ iscrizione sul registro degli indagati di Brusco, come si sottolinea in ambiti giudiziari, è un atto dovuto, conseguente all’ esito del deposito di una consulenza tecnica disposta dalla procura su alcuni reperti.
Ma le nuove tecniche investigative non sono però in grado di stabilire a quanto risale quella traccia di saliva. Lo stesso Brusco interrogato all’ epoca dagli investigatori, ammise di aver incontrato Simonetta il giorno prima della sua morte.La ferita trovata sul seno sinistro i Simonetta, non è riconducibile ad un morso. Lo affermano il professor Corrado Cipolla D’ Abruzzo , uno dei consulenti nominati dalla procura e in merito all’ orario della morte , il perito ha ribadito che Simonetta era “in vita fino alle 17.45” del 7 agosto.
Durante il processo Pietrino Vanacore si suicida il 9 marzo del 2010, lasciando un biglietto con una scritta “20 anni di sofferenze e di sospetti portano al suicidio” avrebbe dovuto deporre il prossimo 12 marzo a Roma per l’omicidio di Simonetta Cesaroni, nel quale è imputato Raniero Busco.Su tutti i campioni analizzati, è stato individuato il Dna di Simonetta, sul reggiseno e corpetto c’è presenza di tracce di Dna di Brusco e di altri due imputati. Per i Ris di Parma, Simonetta e Raniero si sarebbero appartati per un incontro sessuale all’ interno dell’appartamento. Brusco morde il seno di Simonetta che reagisce a malo modo. Brusco allora, avrebbe risposto prima con uno schiaffo e poi, in preda ad un raptus incontrollabile, avrebbe massacrato la fidanzata.
Per l’ avvocato Paolo Lori difensore di Brusco definisce l’impianto accusatorio molto debole. Ma, il 26 gennaio 2011, Busco viene condannato a 24 anni di carcere: la procura aveva chiesto l’ergastolo. Il 24 novembre 2011 comincia il processo d’assise d’appello: viene disposta una nuova perizia che smonta le conclusioni dei consulenti della procura. Caso Chiuso? No. Anche di fronte alla sentenza il caso rimane aperto. Del resto in Italia siamo abitiuati a vedere sentenze che sono state ribaltate nei diversi gradi di giudizio. Il 23 aprile 2012 il sostituto procuratore generale Alberto Cozzella chiede la conferma della sentenza di primo grado e, in subordine, una nuova perizia «che sia degna di tale nome». Il 26 aprile la difesa sollecita l’assoluzione di Busco: «chi ha ucciso Simonetta è un mostro e Busco non lo è». Il 27 aprile,la Corte d’Assise d’Appello assolve Busco per non aver commesso il fatto. Il 26 febbraio 2014, La Corte di Cassazione ha deciso sul delitto di via Poma. Raniero Busco, ex fidanzato di Simonetta Cesaroni, non è colpevole: è stato definitivamente assolto dall’accusa dell’omicidio. Il delitto di Simonetta Cesaroni rimane ancora senza colpevole.
