Romano Prodi si erge in questi giorni a mediatore del dialogo tra Giuliano Pisapia, Emma Bonino, Laura Boldrini e il Pd mentre Fausto Bertinotti lancia un sasso, intervenendo a Radio Cusano Campus: “L’ipotesi di astenersi dal partecipare alle prossime elezioni politiche da parte delle sinistre è una tendenza necessariamente minoritaria perché l’attrazione elettorale su quel che resta della democrazia è un principio di autoconservazione. Vogliono sopravvivere nel residuo che ancora vota. Saltare un giro sarebbe una manifestazione di grande coraggio politico intellettuale, vale a dire: siamo stati sconfitti in questa vicenda storica, ci ricostruiamo nel rapporto con il popolo e la società”. Quello di Bertinotti è un sasso che fa male e che fotografa impietosamente lo stato della sinistra esterna al Pd. Aggiunge l’ex segretario di Rifondazione comunista: “Riconosco tuttavia che questa suggestione è di difficilissima attuazione per le forze attualmente in campo”.
Del resto, in previsione di riunioni-fiume sulla formazione della possibile lista unitaria della sinistra egemonizzata da gruppi e lobby, hanno gettato la spugna – per ora – finanche Anna Falcone e Tomaso Montanari, garanti dall’assemblea del Brancaccio in avanti di un “processo realmente democratico e partecipato dal basso”. Le previsioni realistiche prevedono intanto un 6-7 per cento di voti, se si riuniranno insieme Sinistra italiana, Mdp e Possibile. Il che equivale a una trentina di seggi, se va bene, alla Camera e una ventina al Senato. E’ facile immaginare che non è facile decidere le candidature e distribuire quelle eleggibili equamente tra le varie componenti in base a rapporti di forza per altro immaginari. Il tavolo elettorale sarà quindi arroventato, forse simile a un ring. Sono inoltre iniziate le polemiche incrociate. Rifondazione comunista, insieme ad alcuni centri sociali, ha per esempio autoconvocato domenica scorsa un’assemblea a Roma per prendere le distanze da una presunta subalternità degli altri potenziali partner ai rapporti con il Pd. Il bersaglio polemico è Sinistra italiana, che sarebbe troppo succube del duo D’Alema-Bersani e delle loro speranze di rifare il centrosinistra una volta ottenuta la testa di Renzi (le parole “nuovo centrosinistra” piacciono solo agli ex Pd).
Al di là degli antipatici tiri alla fune tra gruppi e gruppetti, ci sono poi a sinistra problemi squisitamente politici a cui pure accenna Bertinotti nella sua esternazione. Per “saltare un giro” ci vorrebbero infatti coraggio politico e forte determinazione, insieme a una diffusa campagna d’opinione sulla democrazia dimezzata di cui la nuova legge elettorale è solo l’ultimo sintomo. La sinistra, per seguire le indicazioni bertinottiane, dovrebbe saper attraversare il deserto fatto anche di scarse o nulle risorse finanziarie, oltre che di mancata rappresentanza istituzionale. Dovrebbe cambiare priorità, puntando innanzitutto a ricostruire pensieri lunghi, cultura politica, pratiche e insediamento sociale scommettendo sulla breve durata della prossima legislatura per riaprire i giochi in tempi politici e tornare in azione.
Bertinotti conclude però sconsolato e pessimista la sua esternazione: “E’ facile dirla così per uno come me che si è scelto una collocazione esterna alla politica politicante. Capisco che è più difficile per chi ha dentro e di fronte a sé un istinto di conservazione, però vorrei insistere su questo punto dell’istinto di conservazione perché oggi in Europa è una scelta suicida, ha un’apparenza di realismo ma in fondo è suicida”. Questa volta il pensionato Fausto ha ragione?
