“In tanti, oggi, non vogliono assumersi la responsabilità del destino di tanti profughi, di tanti rifugiati”. E’ l’accusa che lancia Papa Francesco, durante la celebrazione in piazza San Pietro della messa solenne per la Domenica delle Palme che precede la Pasqua di Resurrezione.
Il Pontefice, nell’omelia, aggiunge ‘a braccio’ quelle parole, interrompendo per un attimo la lettura del testo, nel punto in cui afferma che Cristo “prova sulla sua pelle anche l’indifferenza, perché nessuno vuole assumersi la responsabilità del suo destino”.
La rinuncia a fama e potere con umiltà – Francesco, nel corso della messa, ha anche esortato a “imparare l’amore umile, che salva e dà la vita, per rinunciare all’egoismo, alla ricerca del potere e della fama”.
Osserva il Pontefice: “Può sembrarci tanto distante il modo di agire di Dio, che si è annientato per noi, mentre a noi pare difficile persino dimenticarci un poco di noi. Egli viene a salvarci; siamo chiamati a scegliere la sua via: la via del servizio, del dono, della dimenticanza di sé. Possiamo incamminarci su questa via soffermandoci a guardare il Crocifisso: la ‘cattedra’ di Dio”. (adn kronos).
