Un senegalese venditore ambulante di 54 anni, Nian Maguette, è morto oggi a Roma intorno alle ore 13 sul Lungotevere de’ Cenci: secondo la Questura della Capitale avrebbe avuto un malore, mentre per altri venditori ambulanti africani – che avrebbero assistito alla scena – il senegalese sarebbe deceduto dopo essere stato investito da una pattuglia in moto in borghese della Polizia Municipale, che partecipava ad una operazione antiabusivismo.
E’ scaturita una protesta, con circa 70 ambulanti che hanno tentato di occupare il Lungotevere all’altezza di Ponte Garibaldi: sul posto è intervenuta la polizia e la situazione è poi tornata alla calma.
Il Comando della Polizia Municipale ha fatto sapere che “non esiste nessuna relazione diretta tra l’attività antiabusivismo svolta questa mattina a Ponte Fabricio e il decesso” del senegalese al Lungotevere de’ Cenci, luoghi distanti quasi trecento metri. Ed inoltre, si precisa dalla Municipale, “l’operazione antiabusivismo si è volta alle 11, mentre l’ambulanza è stata chiamata per il decesso alle 13.30. Anche i colleghi coinvolti nell’operazione di stamattina hanno confermato che non si sono spostati” dal luogo dell’operazione antiabusivismo: “Hanno terminato le operazioni all’interno dell’Isola Tiberina, poi sono rientrati al Comando prima del decesso. In ogni caso manifestiamo vicinanza alla famiglia dell’uomo e a tutta la comunità senegalese”. (askanews)
